At SALT we like to think that no two Valentine’s Days should be the same, that’s why we’ve picked out a handful of restaurants and events perfect for you and your sweetheart to celebrate a night of love and romance—with good food, good drinks and maybe a boogie or two.
Located at Clarke Quay—definitely a romantic spot in our books—PORTA’s Executive Chef Alex Phan has conceived of a 5-course Cupid Menu ($68++ per person) inspired by greek gods and the ingredients of legends. Enjoy a glass of fine Prosecco upon arrival, followed by contemporary dishes such as their Hokkaido Scallops presented with saffron-infused aioli and a watercress salad. Couples will also get to choose between two irresistible mains: fork-tender Beef Brisket in a red wine sauce with caramelised onion puree and wild mushrooms, or perfectly-cooked Pan Seared Cod with tomato cassoulet, french beans and aromatic basil. We recommend going with one of each so you get a taste of each, and perhaps cross forks at the table.
Seated by candlelight with rose petals strewn across the table, embark on a phenomenal epicurean journey at Plate with Executive Chef Fong Chee Chung’s one-night-only 9-course degustation menu ($140++ per couple) perfect for long-time lovers and couples-to-be. Enjoy by candlelight the likes of Smoked Duck with Ginger Shoyu and Furikake, Crabmeat Pastilla with Heirloom Tomato Gazpacho, and Chorizo Truffle Risotto. The meal will be bookended by a complimentary glass of sparkling champagne and chocolate pralines. You can look forward to wining and dining till late in the evening with plenty of good food and conversation.
Known for their stellar American cuisine dating back to the 1930s, Lawry’s has come up with a special Valentine’s Day 6-course dinner menu ($188++ per person) focusing on sensual qualities and textures that will win over anyone’s heart.Their menu comes with rich and indulgent amuse bouche like Foie Gras Macaron and Grilled Spanish Octopus and Smoked Salmon with Avruga Caviar. For mains, their Signature Roasted USDA Prime Rib of Beef will still be available, or you can choose their Seafood Love Platter which includes Baked Cajun Lobster Tail and Miso Salmon steak.
For the entire Valentine’s Day itself, Lawry’s will also be offering 10% off all Set and Personalised menus (ordered before 8 February), a complimentary bottle of Ruffino Moscato d’Asti for takeaway and a $50 return dining voucher with every bill. Couples will also get a digital photo to commemorate their romantic meal.
Pamper your loved one with a six-course romantic dinner at Modern Cantonese restaurant Mitzo this Valentine’s Day ($298++ for two). Expect a warm welcome with a complimentary pre-dinner artisanal cocktail inspired by traditional chinese ingredients and flavours, such as Campari infused with longan red date tea and house-made goji berry syrup. Highlights of the dinner include traditional dishes reinvented: their Pork rib baked with lemongrass, Seaweed fried rice with salmon, and a refreshing dessert of Rose syrup & coconut granita topped with peach resin, lychee pops, coconut jelly served with lotus paste puff.
Luxurious, intimate, sexy: this is what Middle Eastern Supper Club The Ottomani has achieved with its decor and service, bringing you back to a time where genuine touches were eternal. The food, though, aligns with the contemporary, and this Valentine’s day they’ve come up with a gorgeous 7-course menu ($148++ per pax) which you can enjoy amidst candles and oil lantern settings. Exciting dishes include Rock Hill made of smoked fig, cashew labneh, and maple, and a main of In Marshal featuring omega lamb tenderloin, smoked skordalia and zhoug. For an additional $88++ per pax, you can opt in to have specially curated beverage pairings.
Go all out with a two-night extravaganza with SPRMRKT Cambodia as they do a kitchen takeover alongside EGBOK & Spoons (a non-profit culinary training facility & café) and local boutique florists Beverly’s Blooms. On 14 and 15 February, head down to witness a marriage made in heaven between the flavours of the Cambodian countryside and traditional street food, presented as a six-course Valentine’s Day dinner by Spoons chefs Sun Sam Oath and Heng Vichekal. EGBOK students, alumni and representatives will be working both front of house and in the kitchen to ensure impeccable food and service. Want to go the extra mile? Beverly’s Blooms will be carrying handcrafted bag-quets that will sweep your loved ones off their feet.
You’ll also be giving back the gift of love: 15% of the proceeds from both nights will go to underprivileged young adults in Cambodia for a chance to succeed in the hospitality industry.

For those opting to rally against traditional Valentine’s Day dinners, immerse yourself in the local arts scene at Telok Ayer Arts Club as they throw an afterparty to mark the end of Dawn Ng’s sold out run of 11 – A Performance Piece. Solo rangers, twosomes and all things in between are welcome!
Sashay your way around the now-seasoned “confession booths”—performance installations—as Mr. Has churns out tunes from the joyful era of the 70s. Dawn Ng will be in attendance, so admirers can even purchase a full box set of her 11 scripts to be autographed. Also coming to an end that night will be 11’s #ArtsClubSpecials: the Chi11i Crab Sliders ($11) and Penici11in ($17), so enjoy them while it lasts.
