Have you tried using essential oils in your cooking and food preparation? Edible essential oils are now becoming available and Young Living Essential Oils has a range of them to offer. Today we bring you three recipes that include the use of their Lavender Vitality™ essential oil; they’re simple and tasty!
Honey-Lavender Lemonade
Ingredients:
- 6 lemons, juiced
- 1 lime, juiced
- ½ cup honey
- 2 drops Lavender Vitality™ essential oil
- Iced water, about 10 cups
- Lavender sprigs, optional
All you really have to do is to mix the first 4 ingredients in a large glass pitcher and dilute with iced water to taste. Then stir well and serve. Lavender sprigs are optional, but they do add a nice aesthetic to the pitcher. This is perfect drink to quench the mid-day thirst from a hot day.
Homemade Blueberry-lavender Ice Cream
Ingredients:
- 2 cups frozen blueberries
- 1 cup full-fat coconut cream
- 4 teaspoons Blue Agave
- 4 drops Lavender Vitality™ essential oil
- Up to ⅓ cup coconut water
Method:
- Line a small casserole dish or large container with wax paper or parchment paper.
- Add frozen blueberries, coconut cream, Lavender Vitality™, and agave to a high-powered blender or food processor.
- Pulse ingredients together, adding coconut water 1 tablespoon at a time to help the ingredients blend together smoothly. (Note: Be careful not to add too much liquid or your ice cream will become too soft and mushy).
- Pour blended ingredients into the prepared dish (in step 1), cover, and freeze for 4 hours.
Once done, scoop into bowls and garnish with your favourite ingredient. Enjoy when you’re looking for a refreshing, guilt-free treat on a hot summer day.
