Having to choose a space at Shangri-La can be hard. They’ve got 21 event spaces which offer a wide variety of settings, and two pillar free ballrooms: the Island Ballroom and The Dutch Pavilion. For starters, both venues are gorgeous. Crystal chandeliers add nothing short of a luxurious accent to your wedding dinner at the Island Ballroom, while The Dutch Pavilion’s location amidst 15 acres of lush tropical gardens lend a tranquil and intimate ambience to the wedding festivities. Should you decide on a traditional Chinese banquet style dinner, the Island Ballroom offers three different packages with each package offering two Chinese-style menus for you to choose from.

Apart from a complimentary two night stay in the hotel on the day of the wedding, a two night honeymoon stay at either Shangri-La’s Kota Kinabalu, Penang or Cebu Resort & Spa is also included in your package, along with a complimentary one night stay in the hotel on your first wedding anniversary, complete with breakfast for two and $200 in-room dining credit. The Dutch Pavilion on the other hand offers a laid-back atmosphere. Formerly known as the Hollandse School from 1928 – 1982, this heritage site retains the school’s original gable roofs and walls which add a quaint charm to the venue. For your wedding dinner, you’ll be spoilt for choice with options for sit-down banquets; a cocktail parties; buffet dinners; or even a relaxed barbecue at their Outdoor Terrace. The terrace also happens to be a great place to host your reception, for which the hotel can also arrange cocktails and canepes to whet your guests’ appetites for the main event.
