Time to get your caffeine fix. Popular cafe Fuglen Coffee originated in Norway in 1963, and is known by the moniker “the bird” due to its logo, which depicts a bird in flight. They brought their Nordic Style Light Roast to Tokyo in 2012, its first foreign branch in the world. Under this style, coffee beans are lightly roasted to express the fruitiness and clean aftertaste of the bean. The Fuglen Coffee outlet in Shibuya is known for its popularity with locals and tourists alike, and has been lauded for its quality brews and Nordic fare.
This November (until 3 December 2017), you can taste Fuglen Coffee Tokyo in Singapore at The Glasshouse Cafe. On offer are three types of freshly roasted coffee air-flown every week directly from the roastery in Tokyo to Singapore. All of them are fully-washed, which is a preparation method that produces some of the highest quality coffee in the world. The brews include the Duromina Cooperative, Ethiopia, a coffee with hints of figs, peach and blood orange; the A4 Ndaroini, Kenya, famous for its floral notes and acidity, and the Dhilgee Lot 2, Ethiopia, a citrusy coffee that has a subtle taste of nectarine and a sweet, lingering finish.
The general public will also have a chance to participate in Fuglen Coffee Tokyo cupping sessions. Conducted by the cafebond.com team at The Glasshouse Cafe on 15 November and 2 December, the sessions will allow customers to explore the taste and aromas of coffee. Registration details can be found here.
A limited quantity of Fuglen Coffee Tokyo coffee beans will be available for purchase at The Glasshouse Cafe, but the full range will be available online exclusively on cafebond.com.
