Ring in the Festive Season with South Beach Avenue

A festive wonderland awaits at the chic South Beach Avenue, a 32,000 square feet integrated development alongside South Beach Tower (Grade A office spaces), South Beach Residences (luxury residences) and JW Marriott Beach Singapore South Beach. Conveniently connected to both Esplanade and City Hall MRT stations, South Beach Avenue is home to a dynamic mix of 15 dining and lifestyle concepts including crowd-favourite cafes, specialty restaurants and chill-out bars.

This Christmas, South Beach Avenue is spreading the holiday cheer with specially curated menus and festive treats across its F&B establishments. Whether you’re planning for a year-end party or out for a fun night on the town with friends, you’ll find no end of options to indulge your palate and dine and wine in style.

Ready to feast and party? Here’s a closer look at what the South Beach Avenue establishments are offering.

Kicking off the festivities is popular Ko-Mex joint Vatos Urban Tacos. Hot on the heels of their fourth anniversary celebration, they’re keeping the party going throughout December with more zesty bites, boozy cocktails and cool music vibes. Tuck into party favourites such as Kimchi Carnitas Fries and Spicy Chicken Quesadillas, and don’t forget to order a few rounds of their signature Vatos’ Ritas – combinations of different margaritas and beers – for sharing with friends. What’s better, Vatos Urban Tacos is also available for events and catering, so go ahead and make an appointment for that year-end gathering.

For an indulgent fine dining treat, head over to Japanese wagyu purveyors Black Cow. Apart from their seasonal special Shabu Shabu featuring wagyu tongue (add on S$40++ with every set ordered), be sure to also try their Premium A3 Wagyu Don topped with additional white truffles from Alba, Italy (S$98). Non-beef eaters won’t miss out on the fun either – there’s also a Premium Buta Don featuring fresh Périgord black truffles from France (S$85), and Aburi Camembert cheese loaded with black truffles (S$28; additional white truffles at $10/g).

From the folks behind Cicheti in Kampong Glam and pasta-lovers’ favourite Bar Cicheti off Keong Saik, Fynn's has since been rebranded to Caffe Cicheti, serving up fresh, bright flavours from the coasts of Italy at their uncomplicated best. The menu focuses on the osteria fare the brand does so well — a selection of panini made using freshly-baked pizza dough from Cicheti (from $19.50), Panzanella Salad with heirloom tomatoes and creamy stracciatella ($15), mains such as Iberico Pork and Cioppino seafood stew, and authentic dolci such as Gianduja Semifreddo ($12.50). It’s the pasta where they really excel, so make sure your order includes the Bavette with lump crab, chilli and courgette ($27), the Tortiglioni with Chef Aun’s slow-braised duck ragu ($25), or the highly-raved about homemade Gnocchi with mushroom velouté ($23).

For the entire month of December until 2 January, Wild Honey is dishing up Christmas classics such as pavlova, gingerbreads, Christmas granola, and the Big Aussie Christmas brekkie – a hearty combination of ham, bacon, sausage, turkey croquette, cranberry sauce, sweet potato hash and sautéed mushrooms with your choice of poached, fried or scrambled eggs. When you’ve had your fill, wash it all down with celebratory cocktails and Yuletide brews such as Egg Nog Latte and Spic’d Cold Brew.

Best-loved for their signature mille crêpes, Lady M has added two new festive specials to their menu: a Black Forest Hot Chocolate brew with hints of sweet and tart cherries (also available in iced version), as well as a decadent Black Forest Log Cake decked artfully with chocolate shards plus whole cherries, snow sugar and a chocolate gold medal.

Australian coffee chain Dimbulah has whipped up a slew of sweet treats to complement their artisanal brews, such as the sweet Mince Pie laden with dried fruits and spices ($2.50) and their unique festive Fruit Cake ($14), a buttery, melt-in-the-mouth delight redolent with the wonderful aromas of cinnamon, nuts, and dried fruits mixed with rum. If you’re looking for more variety or shopping for party favours, pick up the assorted Cookies Bag ($9.90) with its generous selection of brunsli (Swiss chocolate spice cookies), almond cookies, raspberry cookies, Austrian linzer, mailänderli (Swiss buttery lemon cookies) and gingerbread men ($9.90).

We may not have snow in Singapore, but you can still enjoy the wonders of winter from the comfort of your Starbucks cuppa. In addition to returning favourites Peppermint Mocha and Toffee Nut Crunch Latte, there’s a new seasonal brew to try this year: Holiday French Vanilla Latte, which is a combination of Starbucks’ signature espresso and French vanilla flavour topped with butterfly pea cold foam and festive blue and white sprinkles.

Have a whisky lover in your life? The swanky Quaich Bar has the perfect gift waiting – an exclusive Christmas Gift Box containing a 100ml bottle of Glen Garioch Single Malt Scotch Whisky and Glencairn crystal glass for just S$60 nett.

Adding to their extensive selection of infused craft beers and tasty bar bites, Alchemist Beer Lab has curated a small but tantalising menu of festive nosh featuring meat-heavy mains and the tried-and-tested Gram’s Christmas Pudding with spiced rum butter.

To finish off the festivities, savour sips of boozy bliss at Harry’s Bar. From 12pm to 8pm daily, enjoy two pints of Tiger beer at just S$20, and any two house-pour spirits or wines at S$22.

Cheers to a merry Christmas!
